As if 2015 hasn't been hard enough on us already when it comes to celeb break-ups, Kermit and Miss Piggy have gone and crushed our dreams all over again.
Yep, just when we were trying to process the news that Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards have split (and let's not forget about Bennifer 2.0), everyone's favourite Muppets pair announced they've gone their separate ways:
The world's favourite frog and pig first met in 1976 when they both starred in The Muppet Show, with Miss Piggy's diva ways catching the eye of the ever worrying Kermit.
Chatting at a Television Critics Association panel on Tuesday (August 4), Kermit said of the news:
"It’s a day-by-day, moment-by-moment process," Kermit said. "It can be tough to be the executive producer on your ex’s late-night TV show, especially when your ex is a pig."
